Hey kids,
It's been a while since we've blogged. And the sad thing is that all the other blogs we've done on past tours are somehow lost in the ether now because someone (and we won't name names will we Rosie?) forgot the log in details for the last one so we had to start anew. The silver lining (and there is always one) is that starting anew it's like putting on a new pair of undies, or buying a new pair of shoes, or using a brand new t-towel. And that's what this tour feels like. New. Brand.
We had to leave for our first flight out of Melbourne to San Francisco on Tuesday morning. Sounds nice doesn't it? It does to me because i'm a morning person. But someone (and we won't name names will we Rosie?) booked our flight to leave at 6am which meant that we needed to be at the airport at 4am. Already this is bordering on insane, having to leave home at 3.30am. But than somebody decided (and we won't name names will we Rosie?) that it might be best that we leave at 2.30am, just to be sure that we get seats.
We did.
We had seats with about what seamed like a thousand other people headed for L.A. But it turned out that we needed to go to Auckland first. Obviously the captain needed to pick something up and WE had to go with him.
And we did.
The rest of the trip was hazard free and before we knew it (well 26 hours later) we arrived in San Francisco and found ourselves the best little Mexican restaurant overlooking the bay sipping margarita's by the sea. Not so bad for these three little blak ducks embarking on the Rosie Burgess Trio's first overseas tour (well we have played in Tassie which is technically OVER -seas but that really isn't the same is it?). The first show is tomorrow night at Sutter Creek Theatre and i personally can't wait. I got a good feeling about this even if somebody (and we won't name names will we Rosie?) decides that we have to leave now to make the 2 hour drive to get there a good 28 hours before we need to be there...
Signing off on the first blog of what could be many

Keep them straight and flying right Rosie!
